SSS October Card Kit - Nuts About You

Good morning! Stopping by to share a card using the brand new Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit of the Month - Nuts About You! This is one CRAZY adorable kit - let me tell you!!!

Look what's included in the kit! The stamp set alone is worth it - but those plaid Lawn Fawn pattern papers and perfectly coordinating cardstock? Not to mention the mini Ranger archival inks? and those ACORN stickers? This kit is perfection!
For my card today I stamped the tiny squirrel and the sentiment in the center of a piece of cardstock in black Versafine ink. I then stamped a random assortment of all the cute and tiny elements in the stamp set around the outside using SSS Clear Embossing ink. Once I was done, I sprinkled clear embossing powder over the entire thing, and heat embossed.

I used a foam blending tool and the Ranger archival inks in the kit to do some ink blending. It was interesting playing with them, because they react quite differently than distress inks. You may notice that the clear embossing resisted the color a little, but not completely as it would with distress inks. They also won't react with water, so I didn't bother adding any splatters. I ended up really liking the effect though I must say! Such a lovely soft framing on this card! I finished off with a row of machine stitching after distressing the edges with my Ranger distress tool, mounted on a Burnt Orange cardbase created with one of the pieces of cardstock included in the kit, and wrapped a bit of black jute twine around to finish it off!
